Crepe Flipping 101

Brace yourself in the doorframe and hope for the best. Tiago, my blog's biggest fan, shows us how.

Cap'n Leslie on the High Seas

We went sailing in the harbor today. All of a sudden the wind came up and there was something wrong with the sail, but Leslie kept the course and saved us from a watery death.

I Made the Beaker Cry

I had to do my lab job today. I weighed out the wrong amount of EDTA and had to discard the mixture. I drew a sad face on the beaker with the wrong stuff in it so I wouldn't use it by mistake.

Portuguese and the Peristaltic Pump

Carla and I started a beautiful collaboration today. She brought the cholera toxin and I brought the lipids. She showed me how to use this state-of-the-art peristaltic pump.

Snack Bar

This guy always puts food in his mail slot. Is it a coincidence that the name looks like Snack Bar? In other news, why don't I ever get any mail? (hint, hint)

All-American Max

Max hung a flag on his freezer in lab. Only a couple of the Europeans made snide comments. Max said he'd "kick their teeth in".

Those Crazy Undergrads

Some sort of hack with a statue and something atop the dome. Why do they take the time to do this when they should be studying for finals?

Sad Post

This blog is meant to chronicle happy things in my life. And usually my days are full of happy things to post. But today during my church meeting, the building caught on fire from an electrical problem in the attic. Everyone got out and the firefighters put out the fire, but the church was destroyed. It was very shocking to see a building that you had gone to almost every week for five years, and one that you had been sitting in just a few minutes before, go up in flames.

The Pie Master

My cousin Mary made the most delicious blackberry pie. She didn't even work the glutens up. Feels like summertime.

California Live Oak

We walked up to the dish at Stanford and passed by the radioactive cows. I wore my Cal shirt.

You Say Birdie, I Say Shuttlecock

I made my mom play badminton with me in the backyard even though she has a broken toe and has to wear a little bootie. I'm such a nice daughter.

The American Nerd

Seems fitting to have a copy of The American Nerd in the MIT library. But they also had a copy of Girls Gone Skank on the next shelf over.
