Hard-working Lizard

This lizard travelled to Japan and helped Eva write her grant. She found out today that she got a very good score for her grant, so the lizard relaxed on my plant.

Go Big or Go Home

Not to be out-done by Max and Andrew, I super-sized my lab work and ran THREE big gels. I showed my boss and he even pretended to be impressed.

Between The Folds

I went to see a documentary about origami at MIT. They had a few examples on display, including this gargoyle. Bonus nerd sighting: a guy in the audience was actually wearing a pocket protector.

Elephants in the Snow

The elephants from the circus walked back through Cambridge in front of my work building to the train. I had to run to catch up with them. Oh yeah, and we had our first snow of the year. Poor elephants must have been cold.

The Greatest Show on Earth

Leslie and Erin took me to the circus for a belated birthday extravaganza. They even made me a hat. It was my first time at a real circus and it was really great. We saw trapeze, silks, hand-balancing, spanish web, tigers, motorcycle cage of death, elephants, etc. Thanks guys!

Topsfield Fair

I fulfilled my long-time dream of watching a demolition derby. One car flipped over and the lady driver won. Hard core.
The Flying Wallendas did a tight rope act without a net. Don't worry Mom, this is not the next adventure sport I will try.
High-diving act. At first we thought it was going to be high-diving pigs, but it was actually dudes up in flame.

I Told You My Biceps Were HUGE

I started weight-lifting again yesterday with a new lifting buddy since my last one left for California. John decided we should measure my biceps to chart my progress. Today: 26.5cm (in other words, huge).

On Walden Pond

We picnic'ed at Walden Pond. It was so much more subdued than the last time I visited which was at the height of summer with tons of people swimming and playing.

Gorilla is Watching Me

Someone keeps moving him around the entry hall of my apartment over the past week. He's cute, but sometimes he surprises me.
