Why did the chicken cross the road

To get to the beach. Hardy har har. Chickens rule the roost in Kauai since they don't have any predators. They are everywhere- even pecking around the deep jungle.

Where dirt used to be

This is my vegetable garden. I'm growing tomatoes, beans, swiss chard, carrots, squash and peas. I water it every morning, often wearing a muumuu and my mom's pink hat.

We kayaked up the shoreline. The water was so clear we could see the granite boulders beneath our boat.

Santa Cruz Boardwalk

Jenny and I went to the boardwalk and many adventures ensued. We screamed like little girls, got beaten up by a roller coaster, and rode the merry-go-round on its 100th birthday (there was a guy there riding it 100 times in a row and we shared his 86th ride).

Camp

I was a counselor at a camp for children with cancer. It was a great experience, but also heart-breaking and frustrating at times. I swam in a lake, slept under the stars, fed the mosquitoes, danced to Justin Bieber, and sang songs about Tajar and rigabamboo.

Avenue of the Giants

Glass Beach

Several decades ago this beach was used as a public dump. Now the ocean has turned all of the glass bottles into smooth glass pieces.

Mendocino

We stayed at a really neat B&B with chickens and llamas.
We followed a trail to the headlands.
