In England, the school children play a game with conkers (horse chestnuts). The first to smash the other's wins. Dave smashed my conker on the first swing. Here's a video to explain it.

I woke up to this white scene outside my window. We got a further centimetre in the afternoon and they sent us home early from work.

Big Ben

We climbed to the top of Big Ben today! Big Ben is actually the name of the giant bell and the tower is called Elizabeth Tower (renamed last year for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee). We had to write to our MP (Member of Parliament) for tickets. We stood behind the clock face and heard the bell chime noon and saw the clock workings.
